Nadia Gabol pays surprise visit to city’s different food markets, bazaars and checked quality, price and supply of edible items

Karachi, June 21, 2016 (PPI-OT):Coordinator to Chief Minister Sindh for Human Rights Ms. Nadia Gabol paid on Tuesday a surprise visit to the city’s different food markets, bazaars and checked quality, price and supply of edible items according to government’s prescribed rates in the Holy month of Ramazan.

Ms Nadia Gabol, accompanied with Assistant Commissioner (Lyari) Karachi, Mr. Ubaid Ullah, visited different markets of Karachi District South such as Lee market, Kumharwara, Bakra Peeri and others and personally spoke to the shopkeepers and consumers about price and quality of daily use items on government defined rates during Ramazan.

On the occasion several shopkeepers and fruit vendors were warned not to overcharge on edibles items during Ramzan otherwise strict action would be taken by the government. She explained that Sindh government kept strict and vigilant eyes on price of essential commodities especially for the month of Ramzan in order to provide relief to the people.

Talking to the media men after paying a visit to the Bazaar she said: `Positive results are emerging from the governments` Ramazan package for supplying quality edibles at cheaper rates. She said that efforts to provide relief to the citizens will continue throughout Ramazan.

She said that the subsidy given under the Ramzan package by the Sindh Chief Minister was being used to provide relief to the people. The government has bound the District Government to ensure the edibles are always available in the markets`, she lauded.
