Karachi, February 13, 2014 (PPI-OT): National Youth Parliament Delegation along with Member Advisory Board NYPP Mrs Fauzia Kasuri and Social Worker Mrs Seemi Ezdi had a productive meeting with the Honorable Afghan ambassador to Pakistan His Excellency Mr Janan Mosazai. It was a pleasure meeting the Ambassador as he gave a warm welcome to the young Parliamentarians.
His Excellency expressed his positive views about Pak- Afghan relationship. His Excellency was very optimistic about the prevalence of peace in both the countries in the future. He said there exists a youth parliament in Afghanistan as well and we would like the National Youth Parliament of Pakistan and Afghanistan to have joint sessions in the near future as well as exchange visits of both countries. He said we can call spokesmen from Kabul to Pakistan if any workshops or sessions arranged.
His Excellency said between Pakistan and Afghanistan it’s a special relationship not only between governments to government only but people to people as they share a lot of things in common. Good understanding and mutual cooperation is necessary for both the countries, he said. His Excellency briefed us about the rapidly increasing trade volume of Afghanistan besides the security issues we have managed to improve our trade volume by a lot more in the previous years.
His Excellency Mr Janan briefed the young parliamentarians about the Peshawar-Kabul motorway project which is almost 70% completed and it would be 100% completed by the end of this month. Also with the help of Pakistan he said Peshawar-Kabul railway project would be a priority for both the countries.
His Excellency mentioned that he has made it clear that Afghanistan wants a relation with Pakistan that is stronger than any other country. And Afghanistan’s relation with India would not affect Pakistan. The ambassador appreciated the active role of youth parliamentarians in the democratic process and encouraged them to visit Afghanistan.
