Newly established Rumana police station makes first arrest of two dacoits

Islamabad: Rumana Police Islamabad has arrested four dacoits involved in several incidents of dacoities in various areas of the city and also recovered two pistols, two daggers from their possession, a police spokesman said.

According to details, Rumana police station got information about the presence of a dacoit’s gang in the area of sector G-10/1. Following this information, a special team under the supervision of SHO Rumana Police station Inspector Ghulam Muhammad Baqir, ASI Muhammad Iqbal and others was constituted to raid at their hide out.

The team conducted the raid and succeeded to arrest four persons identified as Zulfiqar alias Zulfi s/o Jalal Uddin, Muhammad Ali s/o Muhammad Ishaq, Nawazish Ali s/o Nawab Khan and Zafar Ali alias Zafri s/o Riaz Ahmed. Police team also recovered two pistols, ten rounds and two daggers from their possession.

During the preliminary investigation, these dacoits confessed their involvement in several cases of dacoity and had been challaned in case no. 413/06 under 380/411 PPC, case no. 263/07 under 380/411 PPC, case no. 510/08 under 392/411 PPC, case no. 585/08 under section 380/411 PPC, case no. 415/06 under 379/411 PPC, case no. 461/08 under 381 A/411 PPC at Shalimar police station.

Police have obtained two-day physical remand of these persons and started further investigation from them.

Meanwhile, Sub-Inspector Shafqat Mehmud from Sabzi Mandi police arrested a female Islama Bibi during checking near Carriage Factory and recovered 1100 gram hashish from her possession.

IGP Islamabad Bani Amin Khan and SSP Islamabad Muhammad Yousuf Malik have appreciated this performance and directed all police officials to accelerate their efforts against anti-social elements.
