Nine Afghan nationals involved in dacoities arrested

Islamabad: Criminal Investigation Agency (Property Wing) of Islamabad police has arrested nine dacoits hailing from Afghanistan and was involved in dozens of dacoities in the city and also recovered looted items as well as weapons from their possession, a police spokesman said.

IGP Islamabad Wajid Ali Khan Durrani and DIG (Operations) Bani Amin Khan have categorically directed all police officials to leave no stone unturned to curb criminal activities in their respective areas. SSP Islamabad Tahir Alam Khan asked SP Investigation and DSP CIA (Property Wing) Bashir Ahmed Noon to trace out culprits of dacoities as the complaints of people from various locations have been received.

A special team was constituted by SP Investigation under the supervision of DSP Bashir Ahmed Noon which also included Sub-Inspectors Muhammad Tahsin, Shamas Akbar, ASIs Tariq Rauf, Zafar Ali and others.

This team succeeded to arrest five Afghan nationals Alam Zaib s/o Nawab Khan, Taj Wali s/o Farman Ali, Abdul Qahar s/o Ali Rahman, Abdul Ghani s/o Ali Rahman, Mohsin Khan s/o Said Umar residents of Afghanistan.

Similarly, CIA Police also arrested four dacoits red-handed from the area of Golra police when they were planning to commit dacoity in the same area.

Local people of the area informed the police about their presence after which CIA police raided and nabbed Ahmed Riaz s/o Fazal Ahmed, Khair Wali s/o Rahmat Ali, Asad Wali and Sher Wali residents of Afghanistan.

These nabbed persons have confessed to commit dacoities in the areas of Koral, Bhara Kau, Sihala, Margalla, Shalimar, Sabzi Mandi and in the jurisdictions of Taxila police station. They also admitted to barge in the houses of people and then used to loot the valuables from them at gun point.

Police recovered three pistols, Kalashnikov, mobiles from them. Other Valuables worth hundreds of thousands of rupees have been recovered from them which would be distributed among the real owners.

Police are further investigating from these nabbed dacoits and hopeful for more recovery from them.

IGP Islamabad and DIG (Operations) have appreciated the performance of the CIA police teams and hoped for better performance on the basis of their hard work in future.
