Islamabad: Outgoing Deputy Chairman Senate Mr Jan Muhammad Jamali paid a farewell call on Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani here today at the PM’s House.
The Prime Minister appreciated the contributions of Mr Jan Muhammad Jamali for conducting the legislative business of the Senate. Historic Amendments and legislations were enacted during the tenure of Mr Jan Muhammad Jamali, the Prime Minister said.
Outgoing Deputy Chairman Senate, Mr Jan Muhammad Jamali appreciated the leadership of the Prime Minister for strengthening democracy in the country during the period. Mr Jan Jamali said that Prime Minister is held in high esteem among the political leadership of the country who fully acknowledges his endeavours to espouse the cause of democracy on the sustainable basis.
Mr Jan Jamali had a free and frank discussion with the Prime Minister on Baluchistan and urged that the grievances of the Balochi people should be addressed on priority basis. However, Mr Jan Muhammad Jamali acknowledged that the government had already done a lot under ‘Aghaz-e-Haqooq-e-Baluchistan’ initiative. He, however, said that there was an urgent need to improve the law and order situation in the province.
