Over 200,000 people educated about traffic rules in 2011: Senior Superintendent of Police

Islamabad: Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) through road education campaign has educated more than 0.2 million people about road safety rules and regulations during current year to establish a disciplined traffic system in the federal capital.

It was stated by SSP (Traffic) Dr. Moeen Masood on Tuesday while addressing the participants of Road Safety Workshop arranged at SAIF Group of Companies in its main office at Blue area.

The education team of ITP headed by Inspector Mehfooz Kiani delivered the lecture about the road safety among the participants while SSP (Traffic) Dr. Moeen Masood also delivered lecture about maintaining discipline traffic system in the city at the concluding session of the workshop.

The SSP (Traffic) said that enforcement of traffic laws could be made possible by creating traffic sense among the road users through educational workshops.

He said such workshops and educational programmes are aimed at creating a traffic sense and responsibility among the road users.

The ITP has been arranging lectures at various educational, government and non-government institutions, aiming to inculcate traffic sense among the people, he maintained.

Dr. Moeen Masood said that such programs will help to acquaint the people with traffic laws while inculcating better traffic sense among them.

SSP (Traffic) said that ITP was doing its utmost effort to maintain traffic discipline in the city while conducting inspection through radars, to control over-speeding practices.

Executive Director Saif Group of Companies Safi Ullah Khan appreciated the efforts of ITP for safe road environment in the city. Later, the SSP (Traffic) and ED Saif Group also exchanged souvenirs.
