Islamabad: Minister of State for Overseas Pakistanis Foundation Sheikh Waqas Akram has said problems faced by overseas Pakistanis will be resolved on top priority and one window operation cell will be established in this regard. This was stated by the minister while taking briefing on OPF housing schemes in his office here today. Managing Director OPF Habib ur Rehman gave briefing. Director Finance housing schemes was also present in the briefing.
The housing schemes which were not completed within the stipulated period discussed in the meeting and decided all the next schemes should be completed in time.
The minister took serious note for not raising buildings on the residential and commercial plots allotted to the overseas Pakistanis.
He asked the authority concerned to get vacated the encroached valuable land of OPF at Lahore, Peshawar and Rawat.
The minister showed concern over corruption during the allotment of plots and construction of buildings at the housing schemes in the past especially in OPF valley zone -5 Islamabad and Raiwind road phase-1.
The minister ordered to stop the release of funds to the contractor for using substandard material in the construction of OPF building at Quetta. The sale of commercial plots has been banned following the slump in the property sector. He warned to take action against violation of PEPRA rules.
The minister lauded the role of Managing Director of OPF for digging out corruption cases and referring to the NAB.
