Islamabad, November 20, 2012 (PPI-OT): Pakistani pharmaceutical products put up on display at the neatly laid-out Pakistani pavilion were one of the attractions as thousands of potential buyers and industry players thronged Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre in the Malaysian capital to attend the 2nd edition of International Conference and Exhibition on Pharmaceutical, Nutraceutical and Cosmeceutical Technology (PharmaTech) 2012 that started here today (Monday), says a press release received here today from Malaysia.
The two-day event features an exhibition as well as a conference featuring discussions and strategies on delivery, discovery, manufacturing and clinical use of drugs, nutraceuticals and cosmeceuticals.
Acting High Commissioner for Pakistan to Malaysia Muhammad Nadeem Khan and other officials of Pakistan High Commission visited the Pakistani pavilion and lauded the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) for sending a strong delegation to participate in PharmaTech 2012 for exploring possibilities for economic collaborations, networking and business matchmakings. Local and international buyers evinced keen interest in a broad range of pharmaceutical products put up on display by Pakistani manufacturers and exporters.
During its stay in Kuala Lumpur, the Pakistani delegation will also meet with heads of Pharmaceutical Association of Malaysia (PHAMA), Malaysian Organization of Pharmaceutical Industries (MOPI), Malay Chamber of Commerce and Industry Malaysia (DPMM) and Associated Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia (ACCCIM). The delegation will also meet officials of Pharmaceutical Services Division and National Pharmaceutical Control Bureau (Drug Control Authority), Ministry of Health, Government of Malaysia.
Pakistan’s exports of pharmaceutical products which stood at US $ 136 million in 2010 and US $151 million in 2011, have registered a remarkable growth of 133 per cent over the last six years, highlighting the acceptability and competitiveness of Pakistani products in the international markets.
The PharmaTech 2012 aims to scaffold a one-stop academic and industry platform for researchers and industrialists to present, share and benchmark their works, exchange ideas and views, generate new strategies and development, as well as, transfer knowledge and technology through vigorous and thought-provoking discussion.
The conference and exhibition are led by established local and international scientists and industrialists with the aim to elevate the standard of pharmaceutical, nutraceutical and cosmeceutical sciences, and transform these arenas into a leading economy driver. The event consists of plenary lectures, keynote lectures, symposia, forum, trade exhibition, oral and poster presentations.
