Lahore, November 19, 2014 (PPI-OT): Pakistan Industrial and Traders Associations Front (PIAF) has demanded of the government to take notice of intervention in the elections of Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) by some government officials.
In a statement issued here Wednesday, Senior Vice Chairman PIAF Khamis Saeed Butt said that Chairman of Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) has not only played role in formation of United Businessmen Group but also taking part in the FPCCI elections and utilizing official resources to influence the contest that is a sheer injustice.
PIAF Senior Vice Chairman said that TDAP Chairman’s prime duty was to work for promotion of exports but he is busy somewhere else. He said that government officials should be unbiased should not use government’s resources for their vested interests.
Khamis Saeed Butt said that representatives of trade organizations and associations were complaining about the misdoings in the FPCCI while reportedly government has given task to the head of United Group in this regard. He said that keeping in view the ground realities, it transperant inquiry of the complaints would not possible.
He demanded of the TDAP Chairman to keep himself away from the elections of FPCCI or should resign from the post of TDAP Chairman.
