Peshawar: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor, Barrister Masood Kausar has said, our beloved motherland; Pakistan offers equal opportunities of development and prosperity to all its citizens and we do realize the role, services and sacrifices which our minorities have been contributing for its overall development, stability and prosperity.
He was talking to a 14-member delegation of minorities which called on him under the leadership of a member of the provincial assembly, Prince Javed at Governor’s House Peshawar on Tuesday. The member of delegation representing almost all segments of the minorities, including Christians, Sikhs, Hindus, Bhais and Kailash and representing different parts of the province, while apprising the Governor about some of the problems which are faced by their respective communities, particularly requested him to help them in the establishment of a community centre for minorities in the provincial capital.
Barrister Masood Kausar highly appreciated the role and services which the minorities are contributing for the overall development and prosperity of the country also pointed out that being the citizens of a developing country we do realize deficiencies in our social fabric as well and with this very fact in mind; the process of reforms of different sorts are being followed.
While quoting the First ever speech of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah to the nation after declaration of Independence, the Governor said it is indeed our utmost effort to act in accordance with his cherished desires and ensure establishment of a society; free from every sort of communal and social prejudices and the process which we followed from time to time have been meant to materialize his dreams.
Referring to various points raised by members of the delegation, the Governor assured to take up their grievances as well as the suggestions with the respective quarters and get them resolved at the earliest.
Meanwhile, Prince Javed and other members of the delegation while apprising the Governor about their grievances also thanked him from providing them the opportunity of meeting him.
