Pakistan State Oil Launches CNG Customer Safety Awareness Campaign

Web Desk May 20, 2011     No Comment     Miscellaneous

Karachi: Pakistan State Oil, the largest energy sector company in Pakistan, is dedicated to promoting safe usage of CNG across the board. PSO who prides itself on its status of being a market leader both in terms of number of CNG stations and market share amongst all OMCs in the country recently held a series of Customer Safety Awareness campaigns at their CNG stations in multiple cities of Pakistan.

The PSO team interacted with the customers and provided safety precautions to be taken during CNG refuelling and installation/maintenance of CNG cylinders and kits. CNG customers were also given various free giveaways and refreshments during the campaign which were well received by the audience.

The direct engagement of PSO with the customers at the retail outlets is another step to highlight safe usage of the product and to ensure that the masses are educated to safeguard against any harmful incident. The safety drives conducted in this regard are in addition to the CNG Customer Awareness Campaigns that PSO has been running for the general public over the past few years in both print and electronic media.

PSO CNG stations are among the safest stations for customers as they are well equipped with state of the art Gas leakage Detection systems which automatically shut off the gas supply on Incidents therefore it is obligatory to impart knowledge pertaining to the safety and technical aspects of CNG stations to its CNG business partners (CNG operators) and PSO Divisional Engineers. The Company views customers as an integral part of ensuring safety controls in this chain and thus embarked on a national drive to promote knowledge and adoption of best practices in safe usage of CNG.

In continuation with the vision to promote safety procedures and practices, each year PSO organizes a series of CNG technical workshops for its technical staff and CNG Operators nationwide. This year, in the first phase, PSO has successfully conducted CNG Technical Training Workshops in Islamabad and Lahore.

These workshops highlight the commitment of PSO’s management to its corporate social responsibilities and the desire to educate general public to follow safety requirements for proper and safe use of CNG fuel in their vehicles. The participants appreciated the efforts of the Company’s management in organizing these workshops and said that they serve an important purpose of educating them about the technical aspects which can enhance and improve the efficiency of the business.
