Karachi: Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) and Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) established One-Stop Facilitation Centre effective from 20th June for members of KCCI and the business community. On this occasion, Muhammad Saeed Shafiq, President KCCI and Abdulla Yousuf Abdulla, Senior Executive Vice President PTCL signed a Memorandum of Understanding to strengthen the mutual cooperation.
Speaking at the occasion, Muhammad Saeed Shafiq, President-KCCI, stated that while recognizing the possibilities and potentialities of cooperation between both organizations, the MoU was signed to exchange information of mutual interest and promotional activities regularly. President-KCCI highlighted that to facilitate members and business community, PTCL, has introduced special packages with discounts and members can avail this facility to promote their businesses.
He focused that in the light of said MoU, PTCL will refer disputes and queries of its member to KCCI for needful action and resolution through concerned RGMs and GM Commercial and Corporate Services. Both organizations will post website links on the respective websites, the PTCL will advertise their products on KCCI website and monthly economic horizon. The PTCL will regularly participate in KCCI’s Annual My-Karachi, Oasis of Harmony Exhibition. A joint committee was also constituted for regular interaction.
Abdulla Yousuf Abdulla, Senior Executive Vice President PTCL while exchanging views on the occasion, highlighted that PTCL was under concluding phase to revamp the infrastructure on optic fibre particularly in the 5 industrial zones affiliated with KCCI whereby technical complaints would be minimized. He ensured 100 percent Customer Care and Services for KCCI members. He said that the PTCL Facilitation Centre would act as One-Stop solution Centre for sales, marketing, resolving complaints, issuance of duplicate bills etc. He stated that as agreed in meeting of KCCI Office Bearers with President and CEO PTCL, no line rent will be charged on telephones if not rectified within 20 days, so complainants may approach the Facilitation Centre accordingly. He termed KCCI and PTCL as partners in progress for the growth of economy.
Junaid Esmail Makda, Vice President-KCCI, appreciated PTCL Management for taking lead to sign MoU with KCCI and establish Facilitation Centre. He said that trade and industry are driving force of the economy and henceforth KCCI is committed to facilitate the trading and industrial concerns. He said that efforts are also underway to establish Facilitations desks of SSGC, KESC, FTO etc. in the next month.
Liaquat Shaikh, Chairman, Communication and Transport Sub-Committee KCCI, in welcome note, gave a presentation about the liaison of KCCI and PTCL and subsequent developments to facilitate the KCCI members.
