Islamabad: Pakistan will take on Guam in the opening match of the HSBC Asia-5 Rugby tournament being played at Karawachi (Jakarta), starting June 22. Indonesia will take on China in the other match of the day. The third place play off and the final match would be held on Saturday, says a press release received here today from Jakarta.

Meanwhile the Embassy of Pakistan hosted a reception in honour of the visiting team. Charge d’ Affaires, Syed Sajjad Haider along with members of the Pakistani community and officials of the Embassy received the team on arrival at the chancery. He wished them success in their matches with other teams in the 4-nation meet.

Manager Khurram Haroon and coaches Rizwan Malik and Mike Pirrit expressed hope their team would be able to put up a good show in the competition. In the last year’s edition of the tournament, Pakistan was runner up behind Iran. It beat Indonesia in the group stage.
