Islamabad: The officers and staff of Pakistani High Commission in New Delhi celebrated Pakistan Day with national fervour and enthusiasm. says a press release received here today from New Delhi.
The Day started with prayers, at the Mosque located within the Chancery, for the prosperity and national integration of Pakistan.
A flag hoisting ceremony was held in the High Commission in which all officers, staff members and their families participated. The High Commissioner of Pakistan to India, H.E. Shahid Malik raised the Pakistani flag to the tune of national anthem.
On the occasion, Minister (Press) Mr. M. Khalid Sarwar and Head of Chancery, Mr. Babar Amin read out the Pakistan Day messages of the President and the Prime Minister of Pakistan, respectively.
To mark the significance of the Day the students of the Pakistani school sang the national songs and presented tableau in national and regional outfits. In their speeches, the Pakistani children highlighted the significance of the Day and paid rich tributes to the services of the Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and other leaders of Pakistan movement
Later Mrs. Uzma Babar, wife of the Deputy High Commissioner, distributed prizes and gifts among participating children.
The ceremony was moderated by Mr. Manzoor Ali Memon, Press Attaché.
A reception is being hosted in the evening at the High Commission to celebrate the Pakistan Day in India.
