Karachi, February 27, 2014 (PPI-OT): The total liquid foreign reserves held by the country stood at $8,654.6 million on 21Feb2014.The break-up of the foreign reserves position is as under: –
i) Foreign reserves held by the State Bank of Pakistan: $3,870.8 million
ii) Net foreign reserves held by banks : $4,783.8 million
iii) Total liquid foreign reserves : $8,654.6 million
During the week ending 21Feb2014, SBP’s Liquid FX Reserves increased by $674 million to $3,871 million compared to $3,197 million in the previous week. The increase in the Central Bank reserves is attributed to receipts from multilateral and bilateral sources. During the week ending 21Feb2014, total official payments were US$172 million which includes US$149 million paid to IMF under SBA.
