Parliamentary Reporters Association AD-HOC Committee meets Secretary National Assembly

Islamabad: Members of the Ad-hoc Committee of Parliamentary Reporters Association (PRA) met Secretary National Assembly Karamat Hussain Niazi in Parliament House, today and discussed problems faced by the parliamentary reporters covering the Sessions of the National Assembly.

The Secretary National Assembly assured the PRA Representatives that on the directions of Speaker National Assembly Dr. Fehmida Mirza, N.A Secretariat has already made elaborate arrangements at Parliament House to facilitate journalists during the Budget Session starting on 3rd June, 2011.

The Secretary informed the Reporters that Madam Speaker has directed for making arrangements for provision of cold drinking water, desert coolers and permanent shade in the area earmarked for media at Gate no.1 of the Parliament House. He informed that additional telephone connections with fax machines and computers will be provided in the Press Gallery besides provision of photocopying facility and supply of budget documents to the reporters.

The PRA Representatives asked the Secretary National Assembly to convey their gratitude to Madam Speaker for her thoughtfulness. They assured their all-out support during the Budget session.
