Karachi, November 21, 2014 (PPI-OT): PharmEvo Pvt. Limited and the Pakistan library association today signed a memorandum of understanding to establish smart libraries across Pakistan and jointly support and pro trading culture in the community at large. The MOU commits the two institutions to establish comprehensive library service throughout Pakistan, arranging technical advice and improve the professional standing of library workers.
The scope of the activity encompasses setting up of 50 smart libraries across Pakistan jointly by PharmEvo and PLA (Pakistan library Association) in collaboration with concern institutes, like medical colleges an Hospitals. In tits first phase PharmEvo will develop and provide smart libraries with its 24 literary publications, library books like Kulliat-e-Iqbal, Dewan-e-Ghalib and medical books as well. Second phase however, journals and Articles.
Addressing the session CPP PharmEvo Pvt limited, Syed Jamshed Ahmed said that this initiative brought us a step closer to our dream of a healthier society. “To and intellectual poverty and boost a reading culture, our society needs such projects badly. The objective of this project id to foster reading habit in society and add value by establishing these Libraries in different Clinics and Medical Institutions.
“We look forward to strengthening our partnership with the Pakistan library association so that people across Pakistan can benefit from this service’ h further added. Managing Director, PharmEvo, Mr. Haroon Qassim elucided the vision of PharmEvo on the subject and said “ As reading habit is abating rapidly in the society PharmEvo feels a pressing need to play its part in reviving this valuable practice.“
This arrangement with The Pakistan library association will help us in strengthening our effort to shape our cultural landscape.’ Mr. Haroon Qassim further added. Also present on the on the occasion, PLA head lauded the role of PharmEvo and said : ‘ PharmEvo effort is commendable in sharing and spreading knowledge across the society as their SR initiative and the signing of today’s memorandum of understanding is a demonstration of our joint commitment towards building a healthier society’.
‘Pakistan library association is the representative National Body of the Librarians in Pakistan and it is working for the promotion of library activities. PLA is responsible to look after the interest of the professional librarians and to work the development and improvement if libraries both in form and informal sectors of education and research he further added.
