Planning Minister reiterates resolve to revive CPEC Projects

President Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries Lin Songtian along with a delegation called on Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal in Islamabad on Thursday.

They discussed projects under China Pakistan Economic Corridor.

Speaking on the occasion, Minister for Planning said Pakistan has a long historic relationship with China and the current government has revived the CPEC projects. He said Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s successful visit to China is proof that the current government is determined to revive the CPEC projects.

The Minister said that Pakistan has a lot of potential in the field of agriculture, and China can take advantage of it.

They also discussed establishment of Special Economic Zones.

The Minister apprised the President of CPAFFC about progress made on SEZs. Ahsan Iqbal informed the delegation that Gwadar International Airport will be operational by next year and it has a lot of tourism potential.

During the meeting, he highlighted the significance of ML-1 and Karachi Circular Railway projects.

In his remarks, Lin Songtian said Chinese market has huge potential to provide profitability, stability and business efficiency. He also assured the Minister of cooperation in all sectors.

The President CPAFFC said he will soon send a group of Chinese experts to Pakistan so that they can exchange the joint experiences for the implementation of various projects.
