Islamabad, May 09, 2012 (PPI-OT): The Executive Board of National Accountability Bureau (NAB) in its 193rd meeting held today with Chairman Admiral (R) Fasih Bokhari in chair directed to conduct inquiry against former MD and Procurement Manager of Utility Stores Corporation (USC) who in connivance with the representatives of M/s Basic Commodities cause huge loss to the government exchequer.
The Board also authorized inquiries against the officials of Taluka Municipal Administration Thul District Jacobabad and others; an official of PWD; and the officials of CDA and others for illegal allotment of two plots in Islamabad, one of them was famous Cold Storage Plot in I-11/4, Islamabad.
In loan default cases, the Board directed to conduct three inquiries where the cases were referred by the State Bank of Pakistan under section 31-D of NAO.
The Board directed to refer the case relating to the officers/officials of Education Department Government of Sindh to its prevention department to study the issue of ghost schools in collaboration with the regulator and other stakeholders. Another inquiry against the officers/officials of Agricultural Engineering Department Turbat was closed as inquiry revealed that nothing wrong has happened and the allegation against the officials was baseless.
The meeting approved Voluntary Return amounting to Rs 22 million in Sindh Text Book Board case. In an asset case from Balochistan which was near the reference stage, the Board referred the case back to the investigation team for further analysis and to strengthen the incriminating evidence.
