Islamabad, May 17, 2012 (PPI-OT): Federal Law Minister Farooq H. Naek promised the establishment of FIA Court at Gujranwala in meeting with a delegation of Gujranwala Bar Association. The delegation was headed by its President Gul Nawaz Goraya.
Speaking on the occasion Law Minister said that he himself is a lawyer and is fully aware of the problems faced by legal fraternity. He also said that he is fully committed to solve these issues on priority basis and the establishment of FIA Court at Gujranwala will be a sigh of relief for both the advocates and general public.
FIA Court are the Special Courts also known as Special Courts (Central). They deal with the cases relating to the FIA. There are already eight such Courts working at Karachi, Hyderabad, Lahore, Multan, Faisalabad, Rawalpindi and Peshawar.
He further said that the Bar Association are deficient in offices, equipment, libraries and funds. Therefore, the incumbent government has prioritized the release of grant-in-aid to the Bar Councils/Associations, so that they can perform their effective role in the proper dispensation of justice.
He informed the delegation that Law Ministry has allocated 5 Million Rupees to the Gujranwala Bar Association during this year and also promised that more funds would be released after the next budget.
He also enquired about the condition of library at Gujranwala Bar and ordered the release of 5 Lac Rupees to improve its condition and facilities.
