Islamabad, May 30, 2012 (PPI-OT): “In order to further facilitate the community members who send their hard earned money to Pakistan by legal channels, the Embassy has placed drop boxes in the consular hall and community welfare wing of the Embassy in which the receipts of the amount remitted to Pakistan could be dropped”, said Ambassador Jamil Ahmed khan while taking round of the consular section of the Embassy.
All Pakistanis sending remittance to Pakistan to the tune of AED 15,000/- in a calendar year are awarded commendation certificates by the Ambassador.
The procedure of recording the remittances and awarding of the commendation certificates has been simplified by the Embassy to save valuable time of the community, the Ambassador stated. He informed the community that he has directed Pakistan Consulate in Dubai to adopt the same procedure.
Under the drop box facility, the community members are required to drop a copy of the receipt of money remitted to Pakistan along with a copy of the remittance book and personal details. The individuals remitting money to the tune of AED 15,000/- in a year will be called by the Embassy to receive commendation certificate from the Ambassador in a special ceremony.
While interacting with the community in Embassy’s consular hall, Ambassador Jamil Ahmed Khan advised them that instead of coming to the Embassy early in the morning and waiting outside the consular hall, they should come to the Embassy after having breakfast at their homes. He assured them that all persons coming to the Embassy for any of the consular and community related services would be facilitated in a befitting manner.
