Karachi, May 26, 2012 (PPI-OT): Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah today presided a high level meeting regarding finalization of Annual Development Programme 2012-13 was held today at Chief Minister’s House. The meeting was attended among others by Minister Finance Syed Murad Ali Shah, Chief Secretary Sindh Raja Muhammad Abbas, Additional Chief Secretary (P and D) Mr. Israr Malik, Secretary Finance Sindh Mr. Naveed Kamran Baloch, Secretary Development, Special Secretary Development, Special Secretary Technical, Special Secretary (S and T), Senior Chief (W/A) and other officers of Finance and Planning and Development Departments.
Chief Minister Sindh said that present elected government has emphasized the need to provide relief to poor people while it is endeavour of Sindh Government to initiate and complete maximum development schemes in the province. He said that emphasis be made to complete those schemes with priorities which are nearer to completion.
Syed Qaim Ali Shah added that it is very encouraging that during meeting of National Economic Council (NEC) held on May 24, 2012 under the Chairmanship of Prime Minister, 166 schemes located in Sindh were included in proposed federal PSDP_2012/13 for which funds worth Rs: 48 billion were allocated.
The meeting discussed various proposals with regard to Annual Development Programme of 2012-13 and over all budget proposal for next financial year. The progress and upto date expenditure on current ADP- 2011-12 were also reviewed.
The meeting was informed that out of Rs:111.000 Billion ADP, an amount of Rs:92.000 billion was released and so far 54% of allocation have been spent while the expenditure is expected to be incurred in the month of June 2012. The subsequent meeting will be held tomorrow at C.M House.
