Islamabad: Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani has approved the distribution of dates received as gift from the Government of Saudi Arabia among the four provinces and the regions including AJ&K at the ration of 60:40 percent respectively.
The division of the dates among the Provinces would be on the basis of 2010 NFC Award which is as under
Provinces (60% of total gifted quantity):

Out of the remaining 40%, 64 % would be distributed among the Gilgit-Baltistan, FATA and AJ&K, while 36% is allocated for the Islamabad Capital Territory rural and BS-1 to 4 employees of the Ministries/ Divisions/Attached Departments located in Islamabad. The division is as under

The Emergency Relief Cell (ERC) of the Cabinet Division has received on March 8, 2012 a consignment of 9,900 cartons of dates from the representatives of the Government of Saudi Arabia.
In past similar gift of dates from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia were distributed amongst the earthquake, flood affected and internally displaced people as well as other deserving people of all the provinces, Gilgit-Baltistan, FATA, Islamabad Capital Territory and AJ&K on need basis.
The decision of distribution of the dates has been taken in wake of the normal situation in the country.
