Islamabad: Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani inaugurated 1116 feet long Dhan Gali Bridge at Mangla. As a result of this bridge, the distance between Islamabad and Dhan Gali will be reduced about 125 kilometers.
The bridge has been named as “Bab-e-Yusuf Raza Gilani” in recognition of the Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gillani’s special interest in the progress and prosperity of Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
Dhan Gali Brige, having two lanes and a width of 28 feet, has been built up on River Jehlum. WAPDA started the construction of this bridge as a part of Mangla Dam Raising Project in November 2008. The bridge has been built a cost of more than Rs. 1 billion. The construction of bridge will benefit the millions of the people travelling between Islamabad and Mangla.
After inaugurating the bridge, the Prime Minister strolled on the bridge in the company of AJ and K President Sardar Muhammad Youqub Khan, Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs Mian Manzoor Ahmad Wattoo and Federal Minister for Water and Power Naveed Qamar.
