Islamabad, November 23, 2012 (PPI-OT): Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf met the Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Ch. Zaka Ashraf who called on him at the Prime Minister House this afternoon.
Chairman PCB briefed the Prime Minister on the measures taken by the Board to encourage cricket in the country.
The Prime Minister appreciated the efforts made by the Chairman PCB for reviving cricket with India and hoped that this would encourage greater people to people contacts between the two cricketing nations.
The Prime Minister emphasized the need to strictly adhere to the policy of merit while selecting teams so that the best represent the country.
The Prime Minister appreciated the efforts made by the Chairman PCB in enforcing discipline and directed that no compromise should be made in this regard.
The Chairman PCB also submitted a detailed report to the Prime Minister on the activities and performance of the Cricket Board which he appreciated.
