Islamabad, February 07, 2014 (PPI-OT): Prince Sultan Bin Salman Bin Abdulaziz al-Saud, Chairman Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiquities of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia called on President Mamnoon Hussain at the Aiwan-e-Sadr today.
Pak- Saudi bilateral relations, ways and means to enhance bilateral Tourism and cultural cooperation and matters of mutual interest were discussed during the meeting.
Commenting on bilateral ties, the President said that Pakistan and Saudi Arabia enjoy close and cordial relations deep-rooted in common faith, traditions and commonality of views on all issues of mutual interest and based on mutual trust and understanding. He said that the government of Pakistan desires to further strengthen the strategic partnership and bilateral cooperation in all fields to the mutual benefit of the people of the two countries.
The President emphasized the need for concerted steps on both sides to explore the huge potential of bilateral trade and investment in various areas including infrastructure, energy, Tourism and culture, archaeological heritage and handicraft and invited Saudi investors to invest in these sectors and avail the liberal incentive packages being offered by the present government for investment in the country.
The President said that Pakistan offers huge natural tourism potential and urged for increased cooperation between Pakistan Tourism departments and museums and the Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiquities (SCTA). The president also stressed for promoting archaeological arts and handicrafts, tourism and people to people contacts between the two countries.
The President thanked King Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz and the Saudi government for the generous support to the government and people of Pakistan in every hour of need and testing times. The people of Pakistan highly revere Khadim Al-Harmain Al-Sharifain King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz and hold him in the highest regard, the President remarked.
Noting the presence of large 1.5 million Pakistani community in Saudi Arabia, the President stated that they serve as a bridge of friendship between the two countries and expressed hope that this bridge would continue to expand and strengthen to the mutual benefit of our two brotherly countries. The President also appreciated the role of Sultana Foundation in education sector in Pakistan.
The President on the occasion conveyed on his own behalf and behalf of the people of Pakistan, prayers and good wishes for the good health and long life of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques His Majesty King Abdullah as well as for progress and prosperity of the people of the Kingdom.
Prince Sultan Bin Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud was accompanied by his son Mr. Abdullah Al-Sheikh and Saudi Ambassador in Pakistan, Mr. Abdul Aziz bin Ibrahim bin Salih Al-Ghadeer.
