Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif says protection of citizens is the primary responsibility of the government and no security lapse will be tolerated in this regard.
Presiding over a meeting regarding the law and order situation in Islamabad today, he stressed for improved coordination between federation and provinces.
The meeting reviewed security issues of the all provinces, Islamabad, Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
The Prime Minister said that effective steps should be taken to improve the efficiency of counter-terrorism departments in all provinces.
Emphasizing the need to equip the law enforcement agencies with modern weapons and equipment, the Prime Minister said the decisions taken in the apex committee should be fully implemented.
The meeting was briefed on measures about Safe City projects in major cities.
