Punjab government is utilizing all means to preserve an ancient site from Buddhist period, "Mound Dillu Roy," located on the border line of Rajanpur and Dera Ghazi Khan districts.
Officials said the site was notified as protected site in February 1964.
Study carried out on the site and the ancient objects found from there reveal that it was occupied by the Buddhists in the Scytho-Parthian period dating back to the Ist century B.C. to 2nd century A.C.
The officials said the site will also be excavated for the first time ever in decades to make more discoveries.
