Karachi, February 05, 2014 (PPI-OT): The Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah has expressed his dissatisfaction over the pace of Zakat Fund distribution under the newly evolve system and has constituted 3 members committee headed by the provincial secretary Finance to work out and replace this un feasible system with a feasible one, having simple procedure and can ensure disbursement of Zakat Fund to the poor beneficiaries earlier at their door step in transparent manner and without charges.
The Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah said that un-amount of Rs. 475.068 million has been released to the Provincial Zakat Committee and disbursing organization and directed the management concerned to complete all the codal formalities by Feb 15 and start disbursement of Zakat fund (Guzara Allounce) from March 16, 2014 positively. This he directed while presiding over meeting of the Provincial Zakat Council at CM House Karachi last evening.
Talking the serious notice of the delay in disbursement of Zakat Fund, the Chief Minister Sindh expressed his dissatisfaction on the newly introduced system of the disbursement through Federal Administrative Organization and formed a 3- members committee headed by Provincial Secretary Finance Sohail Rajput with Secretary Zakat and Member Sindh Zakat Council Mr. Khalid Latif to evolve a mechanism, with Provincial Organization with a view of simplify the procedure and speedy disbursement of Zakat-Fund to the beneficiaries at their door step without charges.
He said that in order to ensure transparent distribution of the Zakat-Fund and to avoid the duplication, the Sindh Government has get the list of 276,872 beneficiaries verified from the NADRA while the names of 5297 beneficiaries were still under verification.
He said that verified list of beneficiaries along with CNIC and accounts is available with Government and now it is only to be associated with the common disbursing organization to be recommended by the 3-member committee for easy and early disbursement to the beneficiaries are at their door step.
The Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah said that it was only PPP, that has launched many welfare oriented programmes aimed to benefit the poor segment of the society and it will try its best to implement the same in letter and spirit.
The Chief Minister Sindh directed the members of the committee to recommend such a system that to ensure the transparent distribution of Zakat-Fund under Bio-metric verification to avoid duplication and wrong entry and submit report to him within a week time.
Earlier, the Sindh Minister for Zakat Dost Muhammad Rehman, the Chairman Provincial Zakat Council Justice (Rtd). Zahid Qurban Alavi, the Secretary Zakat Muhammad Ramzan Awan, Secretary to CM Rai Sikandar also took part in this discussion and majority of the participants desired for changing the new system of Zakat-Fund disbursement and switching it another system, with a view to facilitate the beneficiaries at their door step.
The Secretary Zakat Ramzan Awan informed the meeting that total amount of Rs. 395.772 million have been disbursed among the beneficiaries in last year, while an amount of Rs. 475.068 received sources, has been released to the organization hired for disbursement through Bio-metric system to ensure the transparency.
