Karachi: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah and Chairperson of Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) Farzana Raja Friday briefed Sindh Governor Dr. Ishrat Ul Ebad Khan about the relief provided to flood victims through the BISP.
In their meeting at Governor House here, they informed the Governor that under the programme each family is being provided Rs 40,000/- and added that the recent rains and floods have caused huge losses to the districts of the province.
Both the Governor and Chief Minister were of the consensus view that the BISP will help mitigate the grievances of the flood affectees to a great extent.
However, there was also a need that social welfare organisations, philanthropists and members of the civil society should also come to the assistance of the government in this hour of crisis, they observed.
