Radio Pakistan and Islamabad United signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for media partnership in Lahore on Thursday.
Director General Radio Pakistan, Mrs. Samina Waqar represented Radio Pakistan while owner of Islamabad United Ali Naqvi represented Islamabad United at the signing ceremony held in connection with PSL new edition at Broadcasting House, Lahore.
Speaking at the ceremony, Director General PBC, Mrs. Samina Waqar expressed her pleasure over signing the MoU with Islamabad United and hoped this partnership will continue in future. She said under the MoU, Radio Pakistan will air live commentary for the event.
She said Radio Pakistan successfully covered the matches of recent Pak-Sri Lanka Test series and Pak-Bangladesh women's cricket series as well.
DG PBC said Radio Pakistan will also continue playing its role for promotion of our national game, hockey in the country. She said Radio Pakistan will ensure live commentary on hockey matches.
In his remarks, Chief Executive Islamabad United, Syed Ali Naqvi said Radio Pakistan is voice of the nation being our national broadcasting institution and Islamabad United feels honored to have signed an MoU regarding Media Partnership with it. He hoped that this partnership will help promote the game of cricket in the country, meeting the demand of cricket lovers.
Syed Ali Naqvi said eighty-nine foreign players have applied to participate in the PSL this year and we are very excited over holding of all PSL matches at our home grounds in different cities.
Speaking on the occasion, spin bowling coach of Islamabad United Saeed Ajmal said conducting PSL at home would also help encourage international cricket teams to visit Pakistan.
