Karachi, March 04, 2014 (PPI-OT): KMC Administrator Rauf Akhtar Farooqui said construction of a loop and ramp of Jail Chowrangi Flyover was completed and the same were opened for vehicular traffic whereas the ad grade road will complete after the shifting of I.G Prison’s Office which would made these facilities fully operational and traffic flow around the bridge better.
He said this while reviewing the development works of Jail Chowrangi Flyover. Director General Engineering Niaz Soomro, Project Director Shabih-ul-Hassan and other officers and engineers were present on this occasion.
Administrator Karachi said the space for construction of Jail Chowrangi Flyover’s ramp, loop and ad grade road had been provided by the central jail administration and KMC had constructed the office of I.G Prison to expedite work on this project. The boundary wall of central jail was also being raised to 12 feet with shades over it.
He said the I.G Prison had been contacted and this work would soon be completed. Administrator Karachi said the Jail Chowrangi was an important busy intersection which was used by a good number of vehicles plying on New M.A Jinnah Road, University Road, Shaheed-e-Millat Road and other adjoining roads.
The completion of this project would facilitate citizens and save their precious time and fuel as well. He said all ongoing development projects were being completed on a preferential basis with a view to provide maximum facilities to people.
