Renowned speakers from US, UK, Gulf & AJK pay tributes to Syed Ali Geelani

Pakistan’s Ambassador to the US Masood Khan has paid glowing tributes to the lifelong struggle of Hurriyat leader Syed Ali Geelani for the right of self-determination of Kashmiri people.

Addressing a webinar hosted by Embassy of Pakistan in Washington DC, he said Syed Ali Geelani was a staunch supporter of Pakistan and the ideology of Pakistan. He said Geelani was a resolute ideologue who never made any compromise.

The Ambassador observed that since the passing away of Syed Ali Geelani, the risks of peace in the region have increased.

Speaking on the occasion, British Author Ms Victoria Schofield said Syed Ali Geelani was a man of conviction and would be remembered for his incessant struggle and sacrifice.

Professor Georgetown University Dr Imtiaz Khan said the late leader stood for respect for humanity and struggle for freedom.

Associate Professor Qatar University Dr Farhan Chak said India through its illegal and unilateral actions has made a mockery of free will in Jammu and Kashmir.

Kashmiri Activist Shaista Safi said Syed Ali Geelani has left a legacy behind him. She said it is our responsibility to take forward his legacy and fulfill his agenda.

Renowned US Analyst on Kashmir Wesley Martin said the struggle of Syed Ali Geelani was no different from other world leaders who stood for their people. He said Geelani dedicated his life for securing justice for the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
