Islamabad: Delegation of lawyers from Rawalpindi Division met Federal Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Maula Baksh Chandio at Zardari House Islamabad. The delegation was headed by Raja Israr Abbasi Advocate and included Shahid Mahmood Mughal, President PLF, Nadia Hayyat General Secretary PLF, Ch.Masud Akhtar Senior Vice President High Court Bar Association Rawalpindi, Abi Waqas Tariq President District Bar Association Rawalpindi, Ch. Khalid Mahmood President Murree Bar and several other prominent lawyers.
Lawyers’ representatives apprised Law Minister regarding the problems being faced by them at different levels. Law minister promised to redress their issues on priority basis and to make a countrywide visit of Bar Associations and Councils, as soon as possible.
At this occasion, Law Minister reiterated his strong commitment to the Peoples Party and its leadership. He further said that legal fraternity and Peoples Party believe in rule of law, sanctity and independence of judiciary and both of them have rendered in numerous sacrifices in this regard.
However, some people want to create mistrust between executive and judiciary to achieve their vested interests which is not in the favour of our homeland. He again thanked President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gillani for conferring the portfolio law Justice and parliamentary Affairs whereby he can redress the grievances and problems of lawyers’ community.
