Rawalpindi: Ambassador of Republic of Democratic People’s Korea Ro Kyong Chol has said that his country would eager to enhance trade relations with Pakistan and Korea is keen to invest in the Country. He said that her country is fully aware of the problems faced by the Pakistan regarding business activities and Korea would invest in Pakistan to enhance the bilateral trade relation between the two friends countries.
He was exchanging these views with the President Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) Jawed Akhtar Bhatti in a meeting during his visit to the Chamber here on Thursday.
He said that Pakistan is a best land for investors and investors from all over the globe must visit Pakistan to invest in the country. He further said that Korea would assist Pakistan in energy sector, heavy industry and Steel sector to boost the trading activities in Pakistan. Ambassador ensured his full cooperation in this regard.
Speaking on the occasion President RCCI Jawed Akhtar Bhatti said that Pakistan is situated in a geographically important location. He said that total trade volume between the two countries is around $ 497.172 million which is very low. He further said that Pakistan major exportable items to the international trade markets are Textile, cotton, leather, surgical goods, fruits and furniture etc. He stressed those bilateral trade relations must be enhanced.
He said that Korean embassy should cooperate with the local business community and Pakistani businessmen should be given access to the Korean trade markets. “Business community of both sides should visits each others to find different exportable items for their countries”, Bhatti said.
