Srinagar, March 17, 2016 (PPI-OT):In occupied Kashmir, the APHC Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, has stressed the need of resumption of dialogue process between Pakistan and India for resolution of all outstanding issues between the two countries. Mirwaiz Umar Farooq addressing a meeting of the APHC’s Executive Council in Srinagar called upon the leadership of both the countries to realize the importance of resolution of the Kashmir dispute.
A statement issued after the meeting said that the Executive Council deliberated in detail on the political situation, resistance movement and organizational matters of the Hurriyet Conference. The participants of the meeting said that it was essential to seriously address and resolve the lingering dispute as per the aspirations of the Kashmiri people to ensure permanent peace in the South Asian region.
The meeting also condemned beating up of four Kashmiri students at Mewar University in Chittorgarh city of Indian state of Rajasthan. “Kashmiri students had in the past also been targeted by local students and extremist groups in similar incidents in various educational institutions as a result of which many Kashmiri students had to leave their studies midway and return home,” it added.
