Srinagar, March 29, 2016 (PPI-OT):In occupied Kashmir, Hurriyet leader and the Chairman of Tehreek-e-Muzahamat, Bilal Ahmed Siddiqui, has paid glowing tributes to prominent liberation leader, Ishfaq Majeed Wani, on the eve of his martyrdom anniversary. Bilal Ahmed Siddiqui in a statement issued in Srinagar termed Ishfaq Majeed Wani as a symbol of great sacrifices and a source of inspiration for the Kashmiris.
He said that Isfaq Majeed Wani was a sincere and able leader of freedom movement who since his childhood was very passionate towards freedom of his subjugated people and worked tirelessly to wake them up from slumber. “In this process he suffered a lot but never cowed down and even sacrificed his precious life for the cause,” he added.
Bilal Siddiqui said that the best tribute to Ishfaq Majeed Wani and all other Kashmiri martyrs was to take their mission to its logical conclusion. It is to mention here that Ashfaq Majeed Wani was martyred by Indian troops in Hawal area of Srinagar on 30th March, 1990.
Meanwhile, the Patron of Jammu and Kashmir Mahaz-e-Azadi, in a statement in Srinagar also paid homage to the Kashmiri martyrs including Ashfaq Majeed Wani, Jaleel Andrabi, Shabbir Siddiqui, Dr Abdul Ahad Guru, Mirwaiz Molvi Muhammad Farooq, Khawaja Abdul Ghani Lone, Shaikh Abdul Aziz, Dr Qazi Nisar Ahmed, S Hameed Wani, Maqbool Malik, Dr Ghulam Qadir Wani and Advocate Hussamud-Din.
He also said that Indian expansionist rulers were hatching conspiracies against Pakistan as the country was created on the basis of an ideology. He said that Pakistani nation was brave to face all the challenges with devotion.
