Peshawar, November 14, 2012 (PPI-OT): The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Information, Mian Iftikhar Hussain has said that the role of women was very important in all sectors of life especially in restoration of peace adding that nothing meaningful could be done without their effective participation.
This he said while addressing as chief guest at Provincial Women Peace Conference held under the auspices of PAIMAN Alumni Trust at a local 5-Star Hotel in Peshawar on Monday. Beside others the conference were also addressed by Provincial Assembly Members, Yasmin Zia, Shazia Tehmas, Head of Paiman Musrrat Qadeem, a girl student from Swat Hina Khan also spoke on this occasion. MPA Munawar Sultana, Tabassum Younis Katozai, and representatives of civil society were also present in the conference.
Addressing the conference Mian Iftikhar said that no progress could be made without peace adding that it was due to this reason that we have included the restoration of peace in our manifesto. He said that we have ensured the safety of our people at the cost of our own lives. He said that so far more than 750 workers of ANP have lost their lives during the ongoing struggle against terrorism.
The Information Minister said that the country was under serious threat due to the ongoing terrorism; therefore, we have come out with coffin on our heads.
