Islamabad: A meeting of the Sub-Committee of the Senate Standing Committee on Cabinet Secretariat (Cabinet Secretariat and Inter-Provincial Coordination) was held today at the Parliament House. The Committee was presided over by Senator Shahid Hassan Bugti. The meeting was also attended by Senators Fouzia Fakhar uz Zaman, Kulsoom Parveen and Najma Hameed besides the Additional Secretary Cabinet Mr. Shahid Ullah Baig, Member and DG Planning CDA, Deputy Commissioner ICT and other related officers from CDA and ICT.
While considering the agenda of the meeting the Committee recommended that land of grave yards be enhanced from 2 to 3 percent to meet the future requirements of population/residents of the societies and also asked the ICT to look into the matter of arranging the land for graveyards in rural areas. The Committee also recommended the proposals of ICT and CDA for the development of joint/common graveyard by the societies which will wind up the option of conversion of graveyards in to commercial/residential areas.
The Committee also considered the proposal for joint sewerage treatment plants and grid stations to minimize the land and expenditure of societies. The Committee while considering the Gulberg Farm Houses, Ghori Town asked the CDA to regularize the scheme as per the byelaws applicable in case of developing the housing/agro farms scheme in Zone 4 and 5. On a question the Member Planning and DG Planning CDA informed the Committee that residential plots of Northern Strip will be auctioned first and later on commercial.
A Committee constituted in this regard is scrutinizing the compensation claimed by multi professional societies. The Committee while considering the implementation status of recommendation of previous meeting regarding rectification in the affairs of Cooperative Housing Societies working in E-11 emphasized on CDA to speed up the implementation of recommendation.
