Karachi: Senior Minister, Sindh for Education and Literacy Pir Mazhar-ul-Haq has expressed his extreme displeasure over the false and baseless allegations levelled against him by some so called office bearers of Sindh Chapter of the FAPUASA regarding having passed any derogatory remarks against teacher’s community by him.
He termed it as a blatant lie, and a lame excuse on their part to play politics under the garb of their Welfare Organization. Pir Mazhar-ul-Haq has stated that he has the highest regards for the teacher’s community and he cannot even imagine of any disrespect towards them because his mother was also a teacher as well as his wife an Associate Professor.
It is a recorded fact, he added, that soon after assumption of his office as Education Minister; he issued directives to all education officers in Sindh that the teachers should be extended full courtesy and respect whenever they visit their offices. He reiterated that he did not pass any derogatory remarks against teacher’s community as falsely alleged and being politicized by the said so called office bearers of their welfare organization.
The Senior Minister Sindh for Education and Literacy further said that he is certainly against those black sheep who do not attend their duties, avoid taking classes and refrain from teaching their students and fetch the salaries despite remaining absent.
He pointed out that the issue of Vice Chancellor in the Sindh University had no connection whatsoever with boycotting of classes by the teachers, yet quite unjustifiably they opted for the same for days together and thereby caused severe academic loss to the thousands of students and in this way, punished them for no fault on their part.
He vehemently condemned the practice of some uninterested teachers to indulge into politics on the pretext of working for so called welfare of teaching community and thus bring a bad name to the members of this sacred profession.
He emphasized on them to realize that he is not only the Education Minister of the province but also the Pro-Chancellor of all the Public Universities of Sindh according to their respective Legislative Acts passed by the Assembly.
He condemned the threat of boycotting his presence in the upcoming convocation of Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur and advised them to behave properly and not to deviate from and defy the ethical norms, which are essentially connected with and attached to this holy profession.
He finally cautioned them to avoid reaching a point of no return and not to create a situation where, not they, but he himself and the people of Sindh might go for socially boycotting all such elements that deviate from their actual duty of teaching and off and on attempt to play politics instead.
