Srinagar, September 06, 2015 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, complete shutdown will be observed tomorrow to protest against the utter failure of Indian government to rehabilitate the people affected during the last year’s floods. Call for the strike has been given by the Kashmir Economic Alliance, an umbrella body of trader’s federations, to mark the completion of one year to the devastating floods that hit the occupied territory last year.
Hurriyet leaders and organizations including the forum led by the veteran Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani, the All Parties Hurriyet Conference Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Muhammad Yasin Malik and Shabbir Ahmed Shah as well as the High Court Bar Association have supported the call. In their statements, the Hurriyet leaders said that despite the passing of one year, India had not taken steps to rehabilitate the thousands of people who were affected by the deluge.
