Karachi, February 13, 2014 (PPI-OT): The SITE Ltd denied the concerns and environmental threats in Kenjhar Lake. In a statement issued on Friday from spokesman of SITE Ltd said, industrial garbage of Nooriabad doesn’t affect Kenjhar Lake at anyhow.
In an official briefing Engineering Department of SITE Ltd said, the factual position is that the industrial garbage of SITE Nooriabad is not discharged in the K.B feeder and it is disposed in a Dam near loyaachh/Kaloo River and discharged of industrial garbage is partially evaporated, whereas it is absorbed through process of percolation, as well as distance of Kenjhar Lake is around 35 to 38 K.M. far from KB feeder, because of very little industrial production of Nooriabad the garbage is not enough to reach KB feeder, this garbage drop in a Dam constructed near Loyaach Kaloo River where it is evaporated automatically.
SITE’s spokesman said, to minimize the Pollution a scheme “Construction of Combine effluent Treatment Plant at SITE Nooriabad” was envisaged and in order to carry out the study and prepare the Pc-I of the scheme, Pc-II for hiring the Consultant has been submitted to the P and D Department. Government of Sindh. The scheme was included in the ADP 2012-13; however the scheme has not be reflected in ADP 2013-14 which is still in pending.
