Srinagar, November 27, 2014 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyet Conference Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has said that so-called elections should not be linked with the political aspirations. Mirwaiz Umar Farooq in a media interview in Srinagar said that the voting cannot be seen as a referendum of political aspirations of people.
“There is fear psychosis among people regarding BJP’s communal ideology. People don’t want BJP to succeed in Kashmir,” he added. He said elections would have no bearing on the internationally-recognized disputed status of Jammu and Kashmir.
“Elections have nothing to do with Kashmir dispute. These are two different entities; people vote for the development and basic necessities,” said Mirwaiz.
