Islamabad, February 13, 2014 (PPI-OT): Federal Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony Sardar Muhammad Yousaf has said sports activities are imperative to build a healthy society. Games teach discipline and create an environment of competition among the students.
This was stated by the Federal Minister while addressing an annual sports festival of Punjab Group of Colleges as chief guest here at Sports Complex on Thursday.
He said such sports events would help the youth to make healthy and active members of society so that they could play their effective role in progress of the country. The Federal Minister said such festivals are also helpful for the youth of remote areas to show their talent and make their participation in national level games.
The Minister said Annual Sports Festival is a good endeavour which would provide an opportunity to the youth for showing their capabilities in sports.
Appreciating the contribution of the private educational institutions in promoting the standard education in the country, the minister said imparting education is a very noble profession. We must work hard to educate the young generation in a bid to make them useful citizens.
The Minister lauded the services of Punjab Group of Colleges for the promotion of education which is serving for the last 27 years in field of education.
Earlier, guard of honour was given to the minister by the students. The minister formally inaugurated the annual sports festival and distributed shields among the winners.
