Karachi, September 23, 2015 (PPI-OT): On the directives of Health Minister Sindh Jam Mehtab Hussain Dahar a special team of Health Department paid surprise visit to Civil Hospital Hyderabad and Bhittai Hospital Latifabad. During the visit Medical Superintendent Civil Hospital Hyderabad Dr. Wajid Memon told that an ICU with the cost of Rs 130 million was being constructed to facilitate the patients.
Team visited emergency, cardiac, orthopedic, medical ward, and some other wards at Civil Hospital Hyderabad and observed that over all condition was good but there was shortage of medical staff and due to unchecked visitors and surrounding encroachments there is a threat to the safety of the patients and staff as well. While Medical Superintendent Bhittai Hospital, Latifabad Dr. Muhammad Aslam Shaikh told the team that the up gradation of casualty block was completed with the cost of Rs 22.5 and late comers and absent staff was being checked.
