Islamabad, March 04, 2014 (PPI-OT): Federal Minister for Interior and Narcotics Control, Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan chaired a high level meeting for the implementation of Supreme Court’s interim order regarding yesterday’s incident of terrorism in District Courts Islamabad, here today.
The Minister said that every effort should be geared to implement the directions given by the three-member bench of the Supreme Court today, and directed for their full implementation by the 8th of March, well before the next hearing.
He directed that compensation package for the deceased and injured be consolidated immediately in accordance with the new package recently approved by the Federal Cabinet under the National Internal Security Policy and the cheques should reach the recipients within a week. The Minister ordered immediate purchase of new walkthrough gates and CCTV cameras for the district courts, Islamabad and their immediate installation.
Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan directed the police high-ups to review the overall security of the federal capital with particular reference to entry and exit points and identification of sensitive buildings. He said the reviewed security plan should be presented within the next four days.
Emphasizing on the registration of residents of Katchi Abadis, and people residing in the suburbs, he formed a task force to analyze all the data acquired so far in the light of the security requirements of Islamabad.
He also directed Secretary Interior to coordinate with the Punjab government for implementing the order of the Supreme Court with regard to beefing up security of the District Court in Rawalpindi and the Rawalpindi Bench of Lahore High Court.
