Islamabad, June 10, 2014 (PPI-OT): Sikandar Hayat Khan Bosan Federal Minister for Ministry of National Food Security and Research said that Pakistan and Turkey possessed vast potential in advancing their agricultural interests through cooperation in various areas of agriculture. The Federal Minister said this while talking to S. Babur Girgin, Turkish Ambassador in Pakistan, after the latter called on the minister here in Islamabad
The Federal Minister also said that Pakistan can benefit from the use of modern agricultural practices in Turkey particularly in areas of livestock, poultry and dairy farming. The minister also expressed an interest in initiating cooperation in sharing and exchange of modern agricultural machinery and implements between the two countries.
Both dignitaries also emphasized upon enhancing collaborative research and sharing of experiences in different areas of agriculture. The two sides agreed to take the bilateral ties in agriculture to a new level through joint efforts.
During the course of meeting, S. Babur Girgin, Ambassador of Turkey, invited the federal Minister to D-8 Conference of Ministers of Agriculture to be held in Istanbul, Turkey, in October of this year. The Minister accepted the invitation. The Honourable Ambassador also apprised about the various reformatory measures taken in the sector of agriculture in Turkey that improved the quality of agriculture products there.
Both dignitaries agreed on continuing exploring possibilities for cooperation in various sectors of agriculture in order to enhance the bilateral agricultural trade. Seerat Asghar Secretary MNFSR and other high officials of the ministry were also present on the occasion.
