Srinagar, March 01, 2016 (PPI-OT):In occupied Kashmir, Hurriyet leader and the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Peoples League (JKPL), Mukhtar Ahmad Waza has said that the United Nation is duty-bound to resolve the Kashmir conflict through the implementation of the resolutions of its Security Council.
Mukhtar Ahmed Waza addressing a meeting in Qazigund area of Islamabad district called for the early settlement of the Kashmir conflict in accordance with the Kashmiris’ aspirations and UN Security Council’s resolutions. He said that the UN in its several resolutions acknowledged the right to self-determination of the Kashmiris but despite the passing of several decades Kashmiri people were yet to exercise this right.
“For the last six decades India has maintained its occupation of the Kashmir Valley by political manipulation and brutal military force. The massacres of the Kashmiris by Indian forces amount to war crimes under international law, but the UN or world community never took a serious note of the human rights violations being perpetrated by the forces,” he deplored. Mukhtar Waza urged the international community to take steps towards settling the Kashmir dispute to save the Kashmiri people from the Indian brutalities.
