PM vows to ensure uninterrupted power supply to Karachi


Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar says the government would ensure uninterrupted power supply to Karachi with the cooperation of K-Electric.

He said this while talking to a delegation K-Electric headed by its Chief Executive Officer Moonis Abdullah Alvi in Islamabad on Monday.

The Prime Minister said the purchasing power and welfare of consumers of electricity should be the focus of the policy of the K-Electric.

He directed the Ministry of Energy to find a permanent solution to other problems of K-Electric through mutual consultation.

The delegation thanked the Prime Minister for the approval of tariff about K-Electric’s renewable energy investment plan worth 390 billion rupees, generating 640 megawatt of electricity, as well as provision of 1000 MW of additional power.

In the meeting, the Caretaker Prime Minister was briefed on various issues of K-Electric.
