Caretaker Sindh Chief Minister Maqbool Baqar has directed the School Education Department to ensure ten percent concession to poor children in all the private schools across the province within seven days.
In a letter to the Secretary of School Education, the Chief Minister has said as per the Sindh Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act, 2013, private schools must provide free and compulsory education to poor children. However, many private schools are not acting upon the said law with impunity.
He warned to take stern action against those private schools that do not comply with the government’s policy.
